Are you a tech leader who loves building high-performing teams as much as scalable, secure software? Do you thrive in environments where you can make a real impact? Can you switch between high-level strategy and hands-on coding without missing a beat?
If that sounds like you, then you might just be our next Head of Engineering!
Who are we looking for?
We’re looking for a Head of Engineering who can lead our development team, drive our technical strategy, and ensure we continue delivering top-notch security solutions.
This is a strategic and hands-on role —you’ll be responsible for growing and mentoring our engineering team while also staying close to the code. You should be just as comfortable making high-level architectural decisions as you are reviewing a pull request.
If you're the kind of leader who leads by example, prioritizing clean code and processes, and is always thinking five steps ahead, we want to hear from you!
Key responsibilities:
- Own and drive the technical strategy for Patchstack’s products
- Lead and mentor a globally distributed engineering team
- Foster a culture of innovation, security, and continuous improvement
- Ensure best practices in software development, security, and performance
- Oversee scalability and reliability of our SaaS platform
- Collaborate with security researchers to integrate new vulnerability data
- Work closely with leadership to align engineering with business goals
- Optimize development workflows and processes for efficiency
- Stay ahead of industry trends and emerging technologies
Key requirements:
- At least 2 years of experience leading and managing a team
- Strong PHP & Laravel ****experience
- Strong background in SQL, database architecture, and API development
- Hands-on experience with Vue.js, Nuxt.js, HTML, CSS, and JavaScript
- Familiarity with tools such as NPM, Gulp, ESLint, Docker
- Version control experience such as git
- Excellent understanding of good coding practices and performance optimization
- Experience scaling SaaS applications
- A strategic mindset—you can balance short-term needs with long-term growth
- Outstanding communication skills
- Attention to detail
- Fluent in English
- Time zone: EEST (+/- 2 hours)
Would be helpful:
- Previous experience leading a fully remote engineering team
- Good knowledge about WordPress and other PHP-based content management systems
- Industry certifications
